Practice, flags and the captains

The official practice round gave Championship players their first preparation day at Amarilla Golf, while Ryder Experience participants played Golf del Sur. The flag ceremony then brought national colours together in one of the week’s most distinctive moments.

The Ryder Captains’ Dinner and live Q&A offered another highlight: a chance to hear from Costantino Rocca, Manuel Piñero and Eddie Polland away from the course. The 2026 event also welcomed first-time World Final representation from Slovakia, China, Germany and Norway.

The first competitive round

Competition began at Amarilla Golf for the Championship divisions and Golf del Sur for the Ryder Experience. Farewells after the final celebrations

The official event week ended with departures, leaving players with new friendships, shared memories and the results of two competitive days in Tenerife.

Ryder Experience: Team Manuel Piñero wins

Running alongside the Championship, the Ryder Experience combined individual Stableford golf with a team contest at Golf del Sur. The best ten player scores per team counted in each round, keeping the emphasis on the whole team’s contribution.

Team Manuel Piñero won with 617 points, building on 288 in the first round with 329 in the second. Team Eddie Polland finished on 579, followed by Team Costantino Rocca on 576. Together with the Captains’ Dinner, the competition gave participants the opportunity to share a week of golf with three distinguished figures from European Ryder Cup history.

A gala for the whole International Pairs community

The official prizegiving celebrated the Championship, Mixed Pairs, Gross and Ryder achievements, with Italy’s three winning pairs coming together to mark their clean sweep. It was also a moment to recognise the national networks behind the competition: Italy received Licensee of the Year, Brazil was recognised as New Licensee of the Year, and Zimbabwe received the Licensee in Recognition award.

Our thanks go to every player, guest, captain, licensee, volunteer and member of the event team who contributed to the week — on the fairways, behind the scenes and at the celebrations.
