The behaviour and sportsmanship standards for players, companions, staff, officials, guests and all other registered attendees.
1. Purpose and scope
Golf relies on honesty, integrity, self-regulation and respect. This Code applies throughout the Championship, Mixed Pairs Championship and Ryder Experience programme, including at Barceló Tenerife, Amarilla Golf, Golf del Sur, arranged transport and official social activities.
2. Respect, diversity and cultural awareness
- Treat players, companions, staff, volunteers, venue teams, local residents, sponsors and partners with courtesy.
- Harassment, intimidation, bullying, discrimination, threatening behaviour and unwanted sexual conduct are not acceptable.
- Respect different cultures, beliefs, languages, customs and personal boundaries.
- Follow reasonable event, venue, country and sponsor protocols communicated during the programme.
3. Safety, travel and personal responsibility
- Act with care for your own safety and the safety of others and report an urgent hazard or incident promptly.
- Keep personal items, travel documents, golf equipment and baggage secure. Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and appropriate travel and medical insurance.
- Seek appropriate medical assistance when required and follow emergency, hotel, transport and course safety procedures.
- Use alcohol responsibly. Illegal drugs, violence, dangerous conduct and unlawful activity are prohibited.
- Golf carts, buggies and trolleys must be used responsibly and in accordance with course instructions.
4. Personal accounts, property and damage
- Settle personal room charges, restaurant accounts, course purchases and other personal costs before departure.
- Respect hotel, course, transport, event and third-party property. Do not remove, misuse or deliberately damage equipment, furnishings or signage.
- A participant may be held responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs arising from deliberate or reckless damage caused by that participant.
5. Hotel, course and event standards
- Observe Barceló Tenerife house rules and the published instructions of Amarilla Golf and Golf del Sur.
- Follow dress codes, access restrictions, smoking rules, environmental protections and instructions from authorised staff.
- Respect event schedules, shared spaces, transport departure times and the needs of other guests.
- Refunds, cancellations and travel changes remain subject to the applicable booking and supplier terms.
6. Sportsmanship and player obligations
- Play honestly and follow the Rules of Golf, event regulations, course local rules and Committee notices.
- Maintain an accurate official Handicap Index and provide authentic handicap evidence when requested. Handicap manipulation or false scoring information may result in disqualification.
- Check and return complete scores or match results and report a known Rules issue promptly.
- Maintain pace of play and follow instructions from referees, marshals, starters, team captains and course staff.
- Avoid abusive language, club throwing, deliberate distraction, score manipulation and public confrontation.
- Use social media responsibly and do not harass, shame or disclose another attendee’s private information.
7. Committee authority and event decisions
The Tournament Committee may change the programme, issue or amend competition instructions and take action needed to protect safety, fairness and event operations. Decisions are made under the Rules of Golf, the event regulations and the published disciplinary process.
8. Reporting a concern
Report a safety, welfare, conduct or competition concern to an event official or email info@internationalpairsgolf.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Reports will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible.
9. Response and consequences
The event team will consider the facts, urgency, seriousness, impact and prior warnings. Action may include guidance, a warning, a competition penalty, restricted access, removal from transport or a venue, removal from the remaining programme, recovery of reasonable damage costs, or referral to a venue, national organisation or relevant authority. Urgent protective action may be taken when safety or operations require it.
10. Acknowledgement and privacy
The private register confirms that a registered attendee accepted this Code. It records first name, surname, email, country, attendee role, acceptance, drawn signature, document identifier and submission time. Entry Tracker information is used only to match the submission.
