Handicaps & Formats
Find your estimated Playing Handicap for the tee and rating category shown on your official draw or scorecard, and see how each competition is scored.
Calculate your Playing Handicap
Use the current official Handicap Index shown by your club or national handicapping body.
Official event tees: yellow for men and red for women at both courses. No tee is preselected. If your official scorecard shows a different tee, ask the Committee before using this estimate.
From Index to Playing Handicap
- Course Handicap = Handicap Index × (Slope Rating ÷ 113) + (Course Rating − Par).
- Apply the event allowance to the unrounded Course Handicap: 85% at Amarilla or 90% at Golf del Sur.
- Round only the final result to the nearest whole number, with .5 rounded upward.
This is an estimate, not an assignment. The Committee verifies each player’s Index, course routing and tee; the Playing Handicap on the official competition scorecard is final.
Verified rating reference
Current rating source: RFEG · Amarilla Golf and RFEG · Golf del Sur. Golf del Sur is fixed here to the RFEG route named GOLF DEL SUR VERANO 2026; the supplied yellow and red 2026 course cards match those rows.
Better Ball Stableford · Amarilla Golf
Each partner plays their own ball using their own 85% Playing Handicap. On each hole, the partner with the higher eligible Stableford points supplies the pair’s score. Add the pair’s 18-hole points for each round, then add both competition rounds for the overall pair total.
Example: if one partner earns 2 points and the other 3 on a hole, the pair records 3 points for that hole—not 5.
Individual Stableford · Golf del Sur
Every player records their own 18-hole Stableford total using their 90% Playing Handicap. The three teams are Team Eddie, Team Costantino and Team Manuel.
After 18 holes, the 10 highest individual Stableford totals on each team count toward that team’s score for the round. Any cumulative or tie procedure is confirmed by the Committee.
How Stableford points work
Handicap strokes are applied on holes according to the scorecard’s stroke-index order. Against your net par on a hole: net double bogey or worse = 0 points; net bogey = 1; net par = 2; net birdie = 3; net eagle = 4. If you cannot score a point, pick up promptly and record zero for the hole.
